Ufuya Restaurant – Hundred Year Old House Landlord Ufuya.
Why did I come to this restaurant? A friend of mine sent me the link for Ufuya. It looked amazing, but I am not the type to chase after food unless it is convenient and affordable. When I checked the location, it is stated that it is within Nago city. I had chosen to stay in Nago city for 3 nights already. That gave me 2 full days to explore. The first full day was spent at the Churaumi Aquarium and Ocean Expo Park (full schedule is in another post). From my research and walk around in Nago city, the most exciting thing for me was that 2 convenience stores, both Family Marts were within 3mins of each other. It is a quiet city. So I decided that I would walk an hour to Ufuya for the affordable lunch and very likely walk an hour back to my hostel, which I did.
Before you get bombarded by the many photos of the place. (Hey, I walked an hour there. I should take more photos of the place.) Let me give you an overall view of the restaurant:
For the price and views, the restaurant is worth your time there. Do note the phrase “worth your time”. I had lots of time in Nago. I believe I am the only lone walker in the restaurant. Everyone else drove there. There are 2 buses to get there but the frequency is ridiculously infrequent. There is a photo of the bus timings on the way back from the main road to Nago city. Check that out if you plan to take the bus. Be the first to enter the restaurant at 11am to get the best seat. The best seat is at the base of the waterfall. Though I arrived first at 10:55am, I went exploring, and entered second at 11:10am, and got the second best seat. The second best seat is next to the best seat. Side view of the waterfall. =)
Enjoy the photos.
After about an hour of walking. Signage to Ufuya. Another 7mins of walking to the restaurant.
This is the main restaurant.

There are several old houses that are used to accommodate groups.
Information counter and map at the carpark.
Views along the route from the carpark.
The carpark is at the top of the slopes. There are carts to ferry people who have mobility difficulty down to the restaurant.
This is the entrance if you came down from the carpark.
The second best seat in the restaurant.
My meal, dessert and bill.
Beautiful Toilet.
Dessert Menu. Forgot to take a photo of the main menu.
After my meal and dessert, I went to explore the rest of the restaurant. There are several places and different scenery to enjoy your meal. There are some corner cosy private rooms. Some rooms require sitting on tatami mats. Waterfall views or mountain views?
When you exit the main restaurant.
The bus stop at the main road heading back to Nago City.
