Visiting Fengtian Temple 奉天宫 before hiking the four beasts mountains (四兽山 – 虎山、豹山、狮山、象山)
Route to Fengtian Temple.
Read that Fengtian Temple奉天宫 was a beautiful temple and a must to visit. So, visit the temple, I did.
What I didn’t expect was how beautiful the temple was. Considering that I have visited a lot of temples in my life, Fengtian Temple was really quite amazing.
That’s why I decided to create a post just for Fengtian Temple.
Fengtian Temple. The steps leading up to the main hall. With sayings on each step and on the wall.Entrance of the Temple. The main temple. The wall at the entrance with 9 dragons. The main hall from an outside point of view. At this point, I wasn’t awed yet. But looking back at this picture, I should have realised the beautiful ceiling and the stone carved walls, and be awed already. The main hall. Was impressed with the main hall but not yet awed. 🙂Beside the main hall. This was where I was awed by the wood carvings on the ceiling. There are individual wood lanterns carved on the ceiling, as well as the intricate ceiling centrepiece. After this point, I was examining the temple more. The wooden pillars in the temple are all carved with images. The stone pillars outside are also carved. The view from the second floor of the temple. While exploring the temple’s second floor, I saw the start of the hike up Hu Shan (Tiger Mountain虎山), one of the four beasts mountains. The wooden lanterns on this ceiling are painted quite beautifully. There are also painted wooden reliefs inside. One of the side rooms. There is even an ATM machine here. But, look at the beautiful wooden walls. The view from the second floor. (While I was going to visit the toilet before starting my hike.)The stone reliefs outside the temple. The stone reliefs outside the temple.
I think Fengtian Temple is worth a visit for tourists. I wonder why I never read about it before.
