I am very excited to take this 40mins ferry from Hamakanaya to Kurihama. I only found out about this ferry a few days ago when I was doing detailed research for my hike up Mt Nokogiri.

First, it saves me a lot of time. The trip from Tateyama to Tokyo would have taken about 3 hours.

Second, it saves money. It costs 1000yen/one way on this ferry. Getting to Tokyo via land would costs about 2700-3000yen in all.

Third, from Kurihama, it is convenient to visit Yokohama, which is part of my intended day trips when I stay in Tokyo. With this ferry, I would save on going on a day trip specially for Yokohama.

Fourth, I like ferry rides.

Bonus: I was able to see Mt Fuji from Tokyo-Wan Port at Hamakanaya.
